Located in southeast Washington, the City of Walla Walla is a full-service city serving a population of 34,065 across 13.7 square miles. Incorporated in 1862, the City operates under the Council-Manager form of government with a 2024 budget of $151.6 million and approximately 300 full-time staff.
THE WATER ENGINEER
Reporting to the Deputy Public Works Director, the Water Engineer operates within the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department. The Public Works Department operates with a 2024 budget of $55 million (not including grants) and a team of 86 FTEs. Divisions include administration, engineering, streets, stormwater, water (treatment and distribution), wastewater (treatment and collections), sanitation, and landfill. The City is looking for either a Civil Engineer II or III for this position. A professional engineer (PE) license in the State of Washington is required, or the ability to obtain a PE through state reciprocity.
