The City of Moses Lake is seeking a City Manager for this vibrant community of 27,000 located in the heart of central Washington's Columbia Basin along the shores of its namesake lake. Moses Lake is the largest city in Grant County and conveniently lies 175 miles east of Seattle and 110 miles west of Spokane along the I-90 corridor.  With over 300 days of sunshine a year, Moses Lake is a popular vacation destination for those looking to enjoy the warm sun and one of the largest freshwater lakes in the state. The city also serves as the industrial and economic center of Grant County, increasing the population to 45,000 to 55,000 during the day.

THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE
Incorporated in 1938, Moses Lake is a full-service city serving a population of 27,000 across 21 square miles with a 2024 total budget of $105.58 million and a team of 265 FTEs. The City operates under the Council-Manager form of government with seven council members elected at large. The City Council elects the positions of Mayor and Deputy Mayor every two years and appoints the City Manager. City Hall operates from a Civic Center in the nine-acre Civic Center Park that includes City Administration, Finance, Utilities, Police, and the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center.

WHY APPLY
The City is seeking a seasoned municipal leader to work with the City Council, staff, and the community to help Moses Lake progress toward its great potential. Having had several city managers over the past decade, Moses Lake is looking for an experienced municipal leader motivated to invest in the community and make a long-lasting positive impact. The new City Manager will benefit from an organization that is politically and financially sound with a cohesive and highly functioning senior leadership team. If you are looking for a friendly community, a great quality of life that offers both sophistication and simple country living, a stable Council Manager form of government on solid financial footing, and a diverse and complex set of opportunities and challenges—this may be the opportunity for you.
