The City of Grants Pass, Oregon is seeking a City Attorney for this growing community of 39,364 tucked alongside the banks of the mighty Rogue River 30 miles north of Medford. Located along the I-5 corridor, Grants Pass serves as the county seat and major commercial center of Josephine County. Grants Pass operates under a Council-Manager form of government across 11.52 square miles with a 2024 budget of $207 million and a team of 243 FTEs.

THE CITY ATTORNEY

The City Attorney serves as the chief legal advisor to the City appointed by and directly responsible to the City Manager. Responsibilities include advising City officials, staff, boards, and commissions on matters pertaining to law, codes, regulations, and legal procedures; providing administration direction; and direct supervision of the City’s code enforcement program and risk management.

WHY APPLY

This is an amazing opportunity to join a high performing organization in the “Sun Belt” of Southern Oregon along the beautiful Rogue River as a part of the dynamic executive leadership team that is committed to coordinated provision of services within the community.  Working directly with the City Manager, the City Attorney actively supports the decision-making process of the City Council and staff.  If you are looking for an opportunity to demonstrate leadership excellence, make a difference in the daily lives of members of the community while enjoying the recreational opportunities that abound in the Rogue River Valley, this may be the one for you.
