Soos Creek Water & Sewer District (SCWSD) is seeking an Engineering Manager to join one of the largest special purpose districts in Washington State. Located in Renton, 20 miles southeast of Seattle, the District serves more than 114,000 people within 35 square miles and provides services to unincorporated King County and the cities of Auburn, Black Diamond, Covington, Kent, Maple Valley, and Renton. SCWSD operates with a 2025 budget of $56 million and a team of over 50 FTEs.
THE ENGINEERING MANAGER
Reporting to the General Manager, the Engineering Manager (EM) is a member of the management team. The EM supervises staff engineers, construction inspectors, and oversees the Development Department which includes a lead, permit specialist, development coordinator, and a customer service representative. The EM is responsible for a variety of advanced technical and professional engineering tasks including planning, analysis, design, and management. The EM identifies, monitors, and manages capital improvement projects, reviews and administers contracts for professional services and construction, and demonstrates technical proficiency with pump stations and hydraulics.
