The City of Madras, Oregon is seeking a Human Resources Director for this rapidly growing community of over 8,000 located on the east side of Oregon’s Cascade Mountains. Madras serves as the county seat of Jefferson County and enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year as well as easy access to outdoor recreation such as mountain biking, hiking, camping, rockhounding, skiing, water sports, and golf. The City of Madras operates under a Mayor-Council form of government with a 2023-2024 budget of $38.9 million and a team of 37 FTEs.  

THE HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR

The Human Resources Director is a professional-level staff position, assisting the Office of the City Administrator in the strategic management of the City, managing agency human resources, and coordinating office support services.  The Director serves as a working manager over assigned staff and/or consultants, serves as the City’s Human Resources generalist, and as a confidential assistant to the City Administrator. The Human Resources Department operates with an annual budget of $905,000 and a staffing of one FTE.
