The City of Ashland, Oregon is seeking a Finance Director for this vibrant and progressive community of 21,600 tucked among the foothills of southern Oregon's mountainous Rogue Valley. This is a unique time in Ashland’s history with a recent change in the form of government to council-manager. The new Finance Director will have the opportunity to work with a new leadership team that is professional, dynamic, and dedicated. They will walk into a finance department full of adaptable and knowledgeable staff.  This is also an excellent opportunity to enjoy a high quality of life in Oregon’s well-known Rogue Valley along the I-5 corridor—full of outdoor adventures, wine, and the world-renowned Shakespeare festival. 

THE FINANCE DIRECTOR 

Reporting to the City Manager, the Finance Director leads a team of 15 and oversees a citywide budget of $245 million and a departmental budget of $5.7 million. The department benefits from a solid foundation and a versatile team who have a wealth of experience in key roles and a wide range of skills that are an asset to the entire organization. The staff are dependable, adaptable, and have a committed work ethic.
