The City of Centerville, MN is seeking a City Administrator for this charming community of 3,912 located north of the bustling Twin Cities. Situated between the shores of Peltier and Centerville Lakes, Centerville is known for its mix of natural tranquility and small-town character, providing a peaceful retreat with easy access to the vibrant offerings of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE

Incorporated in 1910, the City of Centerville is a Plan A Statutory City with a Mayor and a four-member Council. The Mayor serves a two-year term, and each of the four City Council Members serves four-year terms. The City Council appoints a City Administrator to serve as the Chief Administrative Officer of the City. Committees and Commissions include the Economic Development Authority (EDA), Parks & Recreation Committee, and the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The City serves a population of 3,912 across 2.4 square miles with a 2025 budget of $3.5 million and a team of 8 FTEs across three departments: Administration, Finance, and Public Works.  The City contracts for planning and engineering services, and police and fire services are provided through a joint powers agreement with the Centennial Lakes Police Department and Centennial Fire District.

WHY APPLY

Surrounded by lakes and natural beauty, Centerville is a hidden gem within the seven-county metropolitan area. The City has a strong financial position, outstanding schools, beautiful parks and trails, and a strong sense of hometown pride. The City embraces innovative public safety service delivery through joint powers agreements with neighboring communities. Centerville is a great place to grow your career while guiding thoughtful development and redevelopment that fits the community’s overall vision through broad community engagement efforts.
