The City of Richland is seeking a Development Services Director for this thriving city in southeastern Washington located at the confluence of the Columbia and Yakima Rivers. Richland is known for its friendly community, low cost of living, abundant outdoor recreation opportunities, and 300+ days of sunshine each year. The City serves a population of 64,706 across 40 square miles with a budget of $358 million and a team of 591 FTEs. 
 

THE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DIRECTOR 

Reporting to the Deputy City Manager, the Development Services Director manages a diverse and substantial economic development portfolio which includes advanced clean energy opportunities. The Director will play an instrumental and influential leadership role in the visioning and implementation of downtown and riverfront redevelopment, permitting process improvements, Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update, and other transformative initiatives. The Director oversees a department budget of $9.7 million (including capital) and a team of 21.5 FTEs. Direct reports include the Building Official, Planning Manager, CDBG/HOME Administrator, Economic Development Manager, and Administrative Assistant II.
